Anti Human Trafficking Unit Panaji organised a Rally under the guidance of SP AHTU Shri Bossuet Silva, to create awareness on human trafficking National Human Trafficking Awareness Day observed, In a concerted effort to combat human trafficking and create awareness on this critical issue, the Goa police in collaboration with SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) organized a rally in the city on the occasion of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on Thursday. The rally was flagged off by the Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Jaspal Singh, emphasizing the commitment of the law enforcement to address this grave concern. The National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is observed every year on January 11th to shed light on the widespread issue of human trafficking and to promote efforts to combat it. This day serves as a crucial reminder of the need for a collective action to eradicate the menace of human trafficking, ensuring the protection of vulnerable individuals and upholding their basic human rights. Various NGOs, students from different colleges and police personnel took part in the rally which started from the police headquarters in the city and culminated at Panaji Bus Stand. Participants walked side by side sending a powerful message of solidarity against human trafficking. Participation of children from various educational institutions further highlighted the importance of protecting the youth from exploitation. The collaborative effort showcased a community-driven approach to tackle human trafficking, emphasizing the significance of collective awareness, education, and advocacy in combating this global issue. The organizers have expressed their gratitude to all the participants and reiterated their commitment to the ongoing efforts in preventing and addressing the issue of human trafficking.
